Welcoming our new chaplain- Ms. Kristin Cho for the second semester by covering her in prayer. Thank you to our elementary head teacher, Ms. Kwon who led us in a time of blessing and encouraging her as we embark on a new series: Spiritual Disciplines! We look forward to the training and lessons that our students will learn and grow deeper in discipline!
Our chaplain, Ms. Hanna introduced to our elementary the meaning of celebrating with great expectation for the birth of Jesus Christ. We all were able to make our own Advent calendar in hopes to bring our families closer to celebrating Jesus and knowing him more. Daily missions begin tomorrow on the first day of December as we eagerly wait for Christmas!
Congratulations to Ms. Kwon's 2nd grade class who beat all the other classes and read the most books! They scored an ice cream date with the Vice-Principal as their prize! Continue to be excellent students who love reading!
We are so proud of all the cheering and energy that our GCFS students and teachers brought to our field day! What another eventful memory as we gathered together. As we approached the end, there was a tie and our last sport activity that took place was our tie breaker which gave the winning trophy to our yellow team! Congratulations!
So proud of our students who showed the most school spirit in creative and eye-catching ways! We had a lot of laughs and joy overflowing throughout this week from your energy and preparing for your costumes to make the most memorable moments at GCFS!

Last week, GCFS elementary went on their last field trip of the school year and visited the trick arm museum. Ms. Song, our vice principal was unable to join them and was extremely sad to miss out on such a fun trip. She proposed the students to submit a writing describing their favorite art work and from the submissions, a winner would be chosen and have an ice-cream date with Ms. Song. One winner couldn't be chosen because 4 different students made Ms. Song laugh and she couldn't help but choose 4 winners! Read it yourself and share the laugh that Ms. Song had!
Over the past 2 months, GCFS partnered with Compassion to raise funds to help with rebuilding hope and a future home for Daniel Hose's family in Guatemala. This past January, with the tragic loss of their home being burnt down from a electrical circuit, they lost everything they owned. Most unfortunate and heartbreaking about this fire was that his younger brother, Alejandro Hose passed away shortly after the incident due to the complications from the fire. As a school, we wanted to be global helpers and represent Christ in our sharing, giving, and offering in small and big ways. In order that what we learned inside the school grounds would overflow into the nations.
Through the multiple fundraisers that were ongoing, every student in the school had the opportunity to participate in the purpose of blessing Daniel Hose.
Here are the amazing results from our fundraisers since April 2-June 2. Praise God for teaching us, training us, and showing us how to display a bigger heart to give to those in need.
